SriLankan Airlines fly daily to Singapore, with the introduction of the summer 2001 timetable. SriLankan Airlines currently flies to Singapore six times a week and codeshares with Emirates on a further service. This summer SriLankan Airlines and Emirates will operate from Colombo to Singapore 11 times each week.

Pro-Surf Event Held from 21st to 24th February - March 2001
The month of February saw two surfing events held in Sri Lanka for the first time. SriLankan Airlines, the name behind these events was successful in hosting one of the ten annual surfing circuits of the Japanese Professional Surfers Association (JPSA) at Hikkaduwa on 21st and 22nd February. This was followed by SriLankan Airlines own International Amateur Surfing tournament on 23rd and 24th February.

Earn Double Miles on SriLankan Business Class - February 2001
SriLankan Airlines has an exciting new opportunity for Skywards members flying its Business Class between
15th February and 15th June 2001. Each time a Skywards (the frequent flyer programme of SriLankan and Emirates) member flies SriLankan's Business Class during this period, he or she earns double the Skywards Miles usually allotted for that journey.

SriLankan Airlines wins premier Gold Award for advertising "Campaign of the Year" - February 2001
SriLankan Airlines' advertising and promotional material won coveted awards at the SLIM awards last week. SriLankan's advertising agency Grant McCann Erickson won the premier Gold Award for "Campaign of the Year", "The Joy of the Journey". They also bagged two more Golds for Corporate Image and Entertainment / Leisure and a Bronze Award for Corporate Print.
