SriLankan Airlines added yet another accolade to its long list of global, regional and local awards, when it received Silver at the Annual Report Awards of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL).
Vipula Gunatilleka, Chief Financial Officer of the airline, received the awards at the ICASL awards ceremony at the Cinnamon Grand on 30th November.
Mr. Gunatilleka said: “SriLankan Airlines is well known for its high standards of excellence in management reporting. Our team worked with lot of dedication and passion and put in a lot of hard work on this project, and we are pleased to receive this recognition from the Country’s premier professional accounting body.
SriLankan was joint First Runner-up in the Service category. Last year, the airline was adjudged Second Runner-up. The Air Line also won a Bronze Award for the best Management Commentary.
Mr. Gunatilleka added: “We at SriLankan continuously stress the need for teamwork, and the annual report is a good example as it was compiled in-house by a team from our Finance and Corporate Communications Divisions, with the design and concept by Copyline. The end result was a very high quality public document.”
The report comprehensively covers the performance of the various business activities, financial results, Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility Projects undertaken by the SriLankan Air Lines Group.
SriLankan Airlines has won more than 50 accolades since its privatization in 1997. They include awards in Inflight Service, Aircraft Engineering, Finance, Human Resources, Aviation Security, Onboard Entertainment, Advertising, Catering, Frequent Flyer Programme, Corporate Social Responsibility, and 5S.
