The children of the Borella Maithree Lama Nivasaya were taken on an educational tour to the Bandaranaike International Airport. They were hosted by SriLankan Airlines and the Airport and Aviation Authority. The children were given a lecture on the functions and the workings of an airport and were taken on a guided tour of the departure and arrival terminals, transit lounge, customs and immigration areas and the new aero bridges.
SriLankan Airlines took them on board one of their aircrafts where they were given a description on the workings inside the aircraft by the cabin crew. This was a very rare opportunity for the children and they were thrilled with the day’s activities. They were also treated with refreshments and lunch courtesy of SriLankan Cares.
