Passengers flying between Sri Lanka and India must reconfirm
their reservations if breaking their journey for more
than 72 hours at either of these points. Please see SriLankan
Airlines Offices for a list of all SriLankan Airlines'
ticket offices and telephone numbers around the world.
If you have any medical concerns about making a long journey,
or if you suffer from a respiratory or cardiovascular
condition, it is best to consult your doctor before travelling.
Think about the destination as well as the journey. Ask
your doctor whether you will need any vaccinations or
special medications. Note that some high altitude or industrial
cities can aggravate asthma or other respiratory ailments.
For example, Mexico City is at 9000 ft.
There are many over-the-counter medications available,
but we recommend that you always consult your doctor to
determine which are suitable for you.
During a long flight, when your body is considerably less
active than usual, your digestive system slows down and
is less able to digest large quantities of food. Eat lightly
and sensibly before the flight.
Allow yourself plenty of time to check-in, shop and reach
the gate. Rushing can place your body under mental and
physical stress. This should be avoided, especially before
a long flight. Try to relax as much as possible at the
airport - if you are travelling in Business Class, arrive
early and enjoy the lounge facilities.
Avoid carrying heavy bags through the airport and on to
the flight. This may place the body under considerable
stress that it may not be used to. Arriving at your seat
exhausted and sweating is not a good start to your journey.
Carry only essential items with you that you will need
during your flight. |
